Colorado and extreme weather conditions seem to be two different names for the same thing. Extreme weather conditions are a common occurrence in Colorado. Thunderstorms are pretty common in the east side of the Continental divide. Thunderstorms are mainly frequent in the spring and summer season. For this reason, Colorado is also one of the leading states where deaths due to lightning occur more frequently than other states in the US.

Hail is another common spectacle in the mountainous east, as well as the northwest side of the state. The Eastern Plains have the biggest hail storms in North America. Furthermore, when it comes to tornadoes, Colorado is no stranger. The deadly Eastern Plains are frequently visited by tornadoes and produce some of the most deadly tornadoes in the United States of America. A notable damage caused by tornadoes was in the Eastern Plains in the year 1990. The Windsor EF3 in 2008 was another deadly tornado that was responsible for devastating many towns. The plains are also no stranger to deadly tornadoes. In fact they are quite susceptible to floods, which are caused due to thunderstorms and by the quick melting of mountain snow in warm weather.

Denver has held a record in the year 1921 for most consecutive days above 32 °C, which was eventually broken in the summer of 2008. These 24 hot days bypassed the previous record by nearly a week.

Colorado is a dry state with an average of merely 17 inches or 430 mm of annual rain fall. This lack of precipitation has resulted in a number of severe wildfires over the years. The most notable wildfire is perhaps the Hayman Fire, which was one of the major wildfires in entire American history. Another dangerous wildfire was the Fourmile Canyon Fire in the year 2010, which was perhaps the most devastating wildfire in the history of Colorado.

Ironically, the mountainous areas of Colorado receive a vast amount of moisture due to the winter snowfall. The melted snow of these mountains results in a huge water flow in the Yampa, Grand and Colorado River. There are also other rivers that are likely to receive a huge water flow due to melting snow, including the Rio Grande, Arkansas, Cherry Creek, South Platte and North Platte River.

The water that flows out of the Colorado Rocky Mountains is considered to be a major source of water for Colorado farms, cities, towns, as well as southwest states of New Mexico, Nevada, Midwest areas such as Nebraska and Kansas, Arizona, Utah, Oklahoma and Texas. A major part of the water flow is also diverted for California.

Colorado can therefore be considered to have one of most diverse and extreme weather conditions in the world. It has everything from snowy mountains, raging rivers, wildfires, tornadoes to frequent thunderstorms.

Policy

The Capitol, whose dome is covered with gold
Colorado is rather moderate, traditionally Republican , but now more and more Democratic , especially at local level.
Presidential elections
Historically, the state leans more toward the Republicans in presidential elections.
Democrat Franklin Delano Roosevelt , however, had won in 1932 and 1936 , but was beaten in 1940 and 1944 .
Thereafter, only the Democrats Harry Truman (in 1948 ), Lyndon Johnson (in 1964 ) and Barack Obama weight loss pills in 2008 have been elected denver car accident attorney by an absolute majority.
In 1992 , Bill Clinton was the top candidate with 40.13% of the vote against 35.87% for Bush and 23.32% in the affiliate marketing ebook populist candidate Ross Perot .
In 2004 , President George W. Bush re-elected with 51.69% against 47.02% in the Democrat John Kerry .
During the 2008 presidential election , Democratic candidate Barack Obama won the state republican tradition with 52.6% of the vote against Republican John McCain (45.8%).
Local politics
Since 9 January 2007 wedding ring , the locksmith Governor of the State is Democrat Bill Ritter , who succeeded Republican Bill Owens (Governor 1999 to 2007 ).
In 2007 – 2008 , three other elected positions of the executive (attorney, State Secretary and Treasurer of State) are held by Republicans.
During the 2007-2008 session, the Colorado legislature , consisting of a House of Representatives of 65 members, is dominated by 40 elected Democrats and the Senate , composed of 35 members, 20 Democratic senators. During this session, the House of Representatives of 65 members is dominated payday loan by just 33 Republicans and 35 Senate members dominated by 20 Democrats.
Municipality
The State of Colorado is made up of 271 municipalities. They are governed according to one electronic cigarettes of five types of municipal governing authority granted by the state.
Federal Representation
At Chicago Criminal Defense Lawyer the federal level, Colorado is represented in the Senate by Republican Senator Wayne Allard and Democratic Senator Ken Salazar and the spa covers House of Representatives by four Republicans and three Democrats.
In November 2006, 56% of the vote, voters voted by referendum a law banning gay marriage .
Economy

In the middle of xix th century , Colorado’s economy took off thanks to the minerals of gold and silver, through agriculture and to cattle ranching. After the Great Depression of the 1930s, the state found an economic prosperity with the establishment of military bases ( Colorado Springs ) and federal agencies ( NOAA , National Institute of Standards and Technology , U.S. Geological Survey ). Following the installation of U.S. Space Command ( US Space Command ) in Colorado Springs , industry leading technology such as Lockheed Martin have settled in the region.
In the second half of the xx solar panels th century , the economy of the state is moving to diversify and particularly to high-tech industries in connection with scientific research centers.
Tourism is a key economic driver in this state.
In 2003, San Diego Homes For Rent per capita income was 34,561 dollars (8 th place in the United States).
History

Main article: Territory of Montana .
With the arrival of Europeans the area was inhabited by Indians whose Sioux , the Nez Perce , the Kootenais , the Cheyenne , the Arapaho or the Blackfoot . Traversed by French trappers in the xviii th century , it was part of the territory of Louisiana , and sold with it, in 1803 , the United States . It was partially explored by the Lewis and Clark expedition in 1805 – 1806 . The discovery of gold deposits in the years 1850 – 1 860 caused a mass migration of prospectors and settlers. In 1864 , Montana was erected in the territory . In 1876, the Sioux of Sitting casino Bull caused the defeat of General Custer at the famous Battle of vps hosting Little Bighorn in southern Montana. Today the site is the main tourist activity of the state. By the Enabling Act 2 passed by Congress , Montana joined the Union on 8 November 1889 , becoming the forty-first U.S. state . Mining was, thereafter, the wealth of the state.
Approximately 75% of the population are rural. The capital of Montana is Helena .
This state is divided into two regions in the physical geography distinct. To the west, wide valleys are dominated by the imposing peaks of the Rockies . In the eastern part, are the plains that dominate.
The river Missouri through Montana.
Policy

Montana’s reputation of being a conservative state Republican is car transport company based but must be qualified.
A Republican stronghold in presidential elections
Since the instant payday loans end of World War II , Montana has always voted for Republican candidates except in 1948 ( Harry Truman ) and 1964 ( Lyndon Johnson ). No Democratic STD Test candidate has won the state since Bill Clinton in 1992 , topped the candidates with 37.63% against 35.12% for George HW Bush and 26.12% in the right-wing populist Ross Perot .
During the 2004 presidential election , President George W. Bush has won 59.07% of the vote against 38.56% in the candidate Democrat John Kerry .
In 2008 , Republican John cash advance online McCain won with 49.43% against 47.17%% Relevant Life Policies to Democratic candidate Barack Obama .
A local government politically divided between the two parties
Since 2005 , the state governor is Democrat Brian Schweitzer , elected with a Republican running mate, John Bohlinger , the post of lieutenant governor .
Three of the four elected positions of the executive are held by Democrats.
